"I first despaired over seeing those oil derricks rise above the Arctic National Refuge shadowing the caribou birthing and calving areas. But now I believe that maybe the consevatives of this country are right. Increasing gas mileage, fuel efficiency, and developing promising existing technologies such as fuel cells and electro-diesel hybrids are all wacky ideas. Even though Silicon Valley has just tested a thirty gigahertz computer, and it only took us nine years to develop the technology to send a man to the moon over forty years ago, and despite the fact that global temperatures are increasing at an alarming rate, it is just ridiculous to think that we could improve upon the internal combustion engine and the gas mileage standards that were set back during the oil crisis of the 1970's. To reflect my new personal outlook, I now drive a '73' Chevy Oldsmobile convertible which gets nine miles to the gallon. It's got a really sharp all leather, cow interior, with whale skin hubcaps with one of those cool 1000 megawatt stereo and subwoofer systems! You'll hear me before you see me baby!" |
Mr. Herman has no relationship with Ralph Nader, nor does he endorse his new philosophy and outlook on life. Above comments are meant tongue in cheek for amusement only.
