Rather than choosing an individual this time, better to laud ALL of those who helped with the Ham Dinner, whether by their labor or financial support, or patronage. Here are a few pictures. | |

| ADULT EDUCATION. One of the roads we are called to as followers of Christ, is to continue to learn about our faith. Some of this we can do through mass, and the written word. There are also classes offered at various churches throughout the diocese of Erie, although rarely in the city of Corry. | Link to: the Erie Diocese homepage |
| Other excellent sources of learning are courses offered over the Internet. The University of Notre Dame is a host site for a number of these classes, called STEP classes. There are many topics available, listed at the site. A wide range of people take these courses - whether they are deacons, parish lay ministers, retirees or young adults seeking to learn more. Some people have a deep background; some are only beginning. Consider looking into it. There are fees involved. | Be better prepared for Sunday mass. If you look into the Scriptures and their background a day or two earlier, the Sunday message may reach deeper. One such source is www.textweek.com, an interdenominational site with many links to reflections and sermons and translations of the Scripture text. Bear in mind that these are not strictly Catholic outlooks. But they can help us learn more, as long as we recall our heritage (our differences and our similarities). |
| RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) - for those curious about the faith, or seeking to join our communion, or looking to refresh our experience of the faith. Generally reputed to be one of our better realized efforts at deepening the faith. | To receive notices on Youth and Diocese Youth Activity news, send mailto:cool_village@eriercd.org ,and say Update Me. |

| One other source for sharing daily mass is available. Daily
mass, offered by the Passionists out of Scranton, is offered
over the Internet. For those with computers, this could be
accessed later in the day at www.themass.com. It requires a
plug-in - the Windows Media player. The video is stilted,
much as the Vatican videos of the Pope praying. It also
tends to center almost completely on actions at the altar,
while we know that actions in the pews are also vital. The
St. Ann's Media larger site is www.themass.org. This
sharing of daily mass was formerly available on Odyssey
Channel, since changed to Hallmark Channel. Mass is no
longer available through that cable TV channel.
Sunday mass is televised via Channel 12 11 am. |

| archive: | LAST QUIZ |
| Current Quiz: | The Christian message has benefitted from a certain
ease of communication - both in the past and in the
current days. Today of course we hope that the
Internet will allow us to spread the Word and a
Christian presence in quick and accessible manners.
In the early days of the faith, the Apostles were able to spread the Good News more easily because of a system of roads constructed throughout the Roman Empire. These roads, and the precursor for the Internet, were created to be used by the same broad group of people. Which group was that? |
| ANSWER: | The roads, and the precursor to the Internet, were each created to be used by the military. |
